Pharmacy context
This is a community pharmacy located in a residential area in the town of Bathgate, West Lothian. Its main services include dispensing NHS prescriptions, including serial prescriptions and selling over-the-counter medicines. The pharmacy provides medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to people who need help to take their medicines at the right times. And it provides a medicines’ delivery service. This was a reinspection of the pharmacy following an inspection in September 2024 where the pharmacy was found to be not meeting standard 1.6 but was meeting other standards. The reinspection focused on the standard which had previously not been met and part of another standard due to what the Inspector observed. Following the last inspection, the pharmacy had implemented more robust processes for managing some higher-risk medicines that require safe storage. And they had maintained a Responsible Pharmacist record.
