Pharmacy context
This is a community pharmacy in a local shopping parade. It is situated in a residential area of Wolverhampton. The pharmacy dispenses NHS prescriptions, private prescriptions and sells over-the-counter medicines. It also provides a range of services including the NHS Pharmacy First service and needle exchange. The pharmacy supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to some people to help them take their medicines at the right time. This was a reinspection following an inspection in June 2024 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.5, 1.6, 2.2, 3.1, 4.3. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy had purchased a new professional indemnity insurance policy which covers all of the services being provided. It took the necessary steps to keep records for controlled drugs and the records are routinely audited. All members of the team are appropriately trained, or on accredited training programs. Pharmacy regulated activities are undertaken on the pharmacy premises, which are suitable for the services being provided. And action was taken to make sure all medicines were stored correctly, with monitoring in place to ensure they remained fit for purpose.
