Inspection Reports

What are GPhC inspection reports?

The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) inspects registered pharmacies against five standards. Reports show whether the pharmacy met the standards, with improvement or enforcement action where needed. Premises ID is the same as the pharmacy's GPhC registration number.

Pharmacy context

This community pharmacy is located on the high street in Old Harlow, Essex. It sells medicines over the counter and dispenses NHS and private prescriptions. And it supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to some people. The pharmacy provides the NHS New Medicines Service and it delivers prescriptions to people who cannot get to the pharmacy. This was a reinspection following an inspection in March 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 1.5, 2.2 and 4.3. Since the last inspection, the pharmacy has implemented new standard operating procedures (SOPs) which all team members have read and signed. The pharmacy now has appropriate indemnity insurance in place. And it has enrolled all members of its team onto accredited training courses relevant to their roles. The pharmacy has completed expiry date checks of all its dispensing stock, and it now has a robust process to ensure expiry date checks are completed regularly. It has installed new thermometers in all its medical fridges so it can show that medicines requiring cold storage are stored at the appropriate temperatures.
